Mr. Rammell graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2007, with distinction. In 2013, he earned an LL.M. degree in Natural Resources from the University of Utah College of Law. During his LL.M. he was awarded a scholarship from the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and was a David C. Williams Memorial Graduate Fellow.
Since Lawschool
Justin has served as counsel to oil and gas operators and mineral owners since 2007. He is involved locally as the Regional Director of the American Association of Professional Landmen and is a past President of the Utah Association of Petroleum Landmen (2013-2014). Recently, he spoke at the Rocky Mountain Land Institute of the American Associate of Petroleum Landmen on curing mineral title through probate actions. Justin has been involved with the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation on program committees and is a past update author of the American Law of Mining, 2d.
In his free time, Justin enjoys the great outdoors with his children, reading voraciously, and beekeeping.
Experience When it Counts
Mr. Rammell has conducted mineral title opinions across the Rocky Mountain region for oil and gas/mining/geothermal exploration companies of all sizes. He has served as counsel for investors, developers, and financing institutions in a variety of natural resource transactions.
Mr. Rammell was part-owner and operator of Andromeda Oil, LLC, a Nevada oil and gas partnership that drilled several producing wells. He understands the mineral business from the perspective of an operator.
Currently, in addition to practicing law, Mr. Rammell assists his wife’s successful digital fabric and wallpaper printing company, Raspberry Creek Fabrics and he holds a patent for web-to-print automation software.

- Unitized 25,000+ acres of Federal (BLM) and State administered mineral rights in Grand County, Utah for exploratory oil and gas drilling.
- Settled a contested mineral rights/probate case involving 200+ descendants resulting in formation of a family company to administer rights.
- Recorded oil and gas liens against delinquent operator with subsequent successful action to foreclose liens in San Juan County, Utah.
- Probated an estate from 1920’s for newly discovered mineral rights that included significant international genealogical research.
- Assisted ranch owners with water title and permit transfers with administrative agencies in State of Utah.
- Regularly provide mineral title opinions for oil and gas, mining, and geothermal operations.
